"Our psyche is part of nature, and its enigma is as limitless." C. G. Jung
Are you looking to find ways to make changes so you can live a more satisfying and meaningful life? Are you finding yourself in repetitive patterns that are no longer working for you? Are you feeling unsettled about some aspect(s) of your life and are having trouble sorting it through on your own so you can move forward in life. These are some of the reasons people enter psychotherapy or Jungian analysis.
In my practice of psychotherapy and Jungian analysis, I find it essential to first create a safe and non-judgmental space, so that we can explore what is most important in your life. I bring a collaborative approach that builds on your strengths and aims to untangle the roots to what is causing problems for you. This can lead to a reduction in painful symptoms such as anxiety and depression, and to finding more constructive ways for you to address life challenges.
In my work with individual adults, I bring to my clinical practice a focus on a range of problems that arise for you throughout your lifespan. We may talk about such things as relationships, career, transitions, school, addiction, body image, sexuality, illness, grief, depression, anxiety and trauma to help work through these challenging issues. I work with patients for both short-term and long-term psychotherapy.
I also provide couples therapy for those who want to have a more loving and meaningful relationship but are struggling around issues that are getting in the way of having this kind of connection. We may talk about communication problems, emotional and physical intimacy, financial stressors, and other relational patterns that are no longer working for you. We will work together to help both of you create the relationship you want.
Along with talk therapy, we may utilize the expressive arts, sandplay, and dreamwork according to the interest of the person(s) with whom I am working. I aim to meet you where you are, as we work together. And as we work through the issues that are bothering you, I aim to help you to fulfill your life potential.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist (lic # PSY13691) and a certified Jungian analyst with over thirty years of experience working with individuals and couples of diverse backgrounds. I am also a registered expressive arts therapist and an analyst member of the C. G. Jung Institute of San Francisco. I would be happy to speak with you about what you are looking for and to answer any questions you might have about my practice
